Sunday School, Bible Classes, & Fellowship

For Children

Pilgrim Lutheran offers Sunday School classes for students from preschool through adult.

Classes are held during the school year from 9:00am - 9:45am.

Our Sunday School teachers seek to help persons of all ages learn more about Jesus as their Lord and Savior. In addition, we aim to help students learn the basic narrative and stories from the Bible. Our prayer is that, as children continue to grow up in their faith, they will develop a closer relationship with Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

If you have any questions or would like to sign up, please fill out the form below. And, of course, walk-in visitors are always welcome!

For Teenagers

Our youth meet under the name of “PYC” - Pilgrim Youth in Christ. PYC is open for high school students in grades 9-12. Our current youth counselors are John and Laura Weihrauch. The PYC is active throughout the school year. Some of their activities include:

  • Planning, designing, and leading the worship services on Mother’s Day

  • Engaging in service projects such as making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or trail mix for Martha’s Table

  • Planning Pilgrim’s Spaghetti Dinner and Talent Show (and creating an act for the show!)

  • Attending Lutheran youth conferences around the United States

  • Spending time together socially through such events as church "lock-ins”

Christian fellowship is a tremendous blessing for teenagers as they navigate their high school years, and Pilgrim’s PYC is welcoming to and inclusive of their peers. Please contact the Church Office if you would like join the PYC or would like more information from our counselors.

Confirmation Classes

Our Youth Instruction Classes, also known as “Confirmation Classes,” are on Saturday mornings with Pastor Josh. These classes are open to students in grades seven and eight. Participants can expect a year of learning, growth in discipleship, and fun - with a few well-timed activities to supplement our regular class activities. For further information, please contact Pastor Josh.

First Communion Classes

Classes are given to 4th grade students (and students in higher grades who had not yet completed the classes) with the intent to help them prepare to receive the Lord’s Supper.

The classes will seek to accomplish three vital goals:

  • Make sure these children believe in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation,

  • Understand what Lutheran Christians believe about the Sacrament, and

  • Prepare them to join with us in communing to receive all the blessings God gives us in and through the Holy Communion.

We offer these classes on an as-needed basis during the Sunday School hour (9:00am - 9:45am).
