Youth Choir Program
The Youth Choir Program is a community music program sponsored by Pilgrim Lutheran Church . The ensemble is made up of student members and friends elementary aged through high school. It practices on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month from 10:00-11:00 AM and then performs at the 11:00 AM service.
This program gives the opportunity for children to gain solo and ensemble experience. Participants are taught proper vocal technique and the ability to read and understand music. During rehearsal, we play rhythm and ear training games that develop their musical abilities.
Each service, participants are selected to perform both Classical and Modern solos, as well as group numbers and duets, with the program's orchestra and band. These experiences allow participants to gain confidence performing in a no-stress and positive environment and to gain experience singing with instrumentalists. Many of our members go on to be to be music majors in college and professional musicians.

No, children from the entire community are welcome to participate!
Do I have to audition?
Auditions are not required but we prefer that you have an individual meeting with the director before your first practice. This will help the director get to know you and your voice part (i.e., soprano, alto, tenor, bass).
Is there a cost to join ?
There is absolutely no cost to join. Donations to help fund the costs of the program are appreciated but by no means required.
